Ambassador Khumalo Meets with the Iranian Foreign Minister
Ambassador VM Khumalo met with the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, on 15 September 2021, and delivered the congratulatory message from the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, H.E. Naledi Pandor. Ambassador Khumalo was the first resident Ambassador to have met with the new Iranian Foreign Minister. The strengthening of bilateral relations, international collaboration, convening the 15th meeting of the Joint Bilateral Commission and President Raisi’s possible future visit to South Africa were among the issues discussed.
Ambassador Khumalo also met subsequently with the Iranian DG for Africa, Mr. Mohammadi, to discuss continued engagements aimed at deepening relations.
