South Africa gets a new Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran

On 21 January 2024, His Excellency Ambassador Dr Sehloho Francis (SF) Moloi, South Africa’s Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, presented his credentials to His Excellency Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.  Dr SF Moloi became South Africa’s seventh Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran since the dawn of democracy in South Africa in 1994.

South Africa and Iran enjoy cordial and solid bilateral political relations which were forged in the struggle for freedom and justice for the oppressed people around the world.

During the presentation of credentials, both President Raisi and Ambassador Moloi appreciated the excellent bilateral relations between South Africa and Iran. In his remarks, President Raisi further acknowledged and appreciated South Africa’s support for Iran’s membership of the BRICS group of countries and expressed the hope that the relations will further consolidate during Ambassador Moloi’s tenure as South Africa’s Ambassador to Iran as the two countries explore further areas of cooperation in the fields of commerce, culture, science and technology, and education and training (to mention but a few).
